My Point of view

Pictures are a mirror of its author’s personality. Each person sees something different in any given situation. Everyone sees another thing. And when the very same scene reaches the eyes of two persons, their brains process them in a different way. While for the first one a scene is worth being photographed, it may not mean anything interesting to the next one. This particular appreciation, this own perspective, is what makes us different, thus becoming an expression of ourselves.

Sometimes images are created  a priori, in our heads. Then, they just need to be taken to become pictures. Mine are seldom build. They often come to me spontaneously and through them I wish to share with the spectator the way I see the world. This doesn’t mean I just stumble on pictures. In the creation’s process I am chasing new situations, waiting for the best light to come, being alert to the moment in which something interesting could develop. To accomplish it, I go through life with both eyes wide open. This high attention doesn’t allow me to just simply enjoy Beauty or feel anguished when I see something terrible. Much more, I just want to perpetuate that situation on emulsion for posterity, trying to create a timeless document.

Capturing an unrepeatable moment is as important for me as to create an unusual light, or to play between reality and optical illusions. My photographic works shall incite the spectator to look closely and not just see. And if I manage to make him think about them, then I may have told a story through a simple picture.
